Awakening giant …
China is an awakening giant on many levels and this is no less true of its role in the bird-tour realm.
Plans are in progress to offer tours over the next few years to Yunnan and Taiwan, and Tibet in addition to our classic Sichuan tour, the home of so many Chinese endemics.
Undeniably impressive scenery hosts some fabulous birds, not least of which are a plethora of very fancy pheasants, parrotbills, laughing-thrushes, rosefinches, and, of course, the Giant Panda. China is also home to many other wonderful but lesser- known mammals. As if this is not sufficient the antiquities of this ancient culture are extraordinary marvels in their own right and easy enough to include in a sympathetic itinerary.
